Phare OS Fundamentals4 questions

What is Phare OS?

Phare OS is an AI-powered operating system that enables organizations to move beyond point-solution automation and toward coordinated, predictive and increasingly autonomous revenue cycle management. It is powered by three foundations: (1) Data Platform; (2) Payer Atlas; (3) Phare Intelligence that provides the foundation for trusted AI, real-time orchestration, and continuous revenue optimization. With Phare OS, health systems can drive stronger financial performance at scale.

What three things belong in every Phare OS conversation?

1. R1's proprietary mix of payer-provider data and relationships.

2. A unique and best-in-class blend of technology and services.

3. Deep, hyper-verticalized healthcare expertise.

Is there an example of one case flowing through all six modules?

An integrated demo and video are being built for HLTH.

Why isn't coding in the six modules?

It's still being proven with enterprise clients. ED coding is likely in the second half of next year, with inpatient coding to follow.

Epic & Other Competing Technology4 questions

A customer says, "We're already investing heavily in Epic." What do I say?

To a CFO: "That makes sense. Most CFOs we speak with aren't looking to replace Epic. They're trying to understand whether Epic alone can deliver the financial outcomes they're being asked to achieve."

To a CIO: "Most CIOs we speak with view Epic as a foundational platform. The strategic question becomes whether Epic alone provides the level of operational intelligence, workflow orchestration, and financial optimization required to achieve commercial outcomes."

How do we answer, "Epic will build this"?

The question is: how long are you willing to wait? Epic may build it, but timing can be uncertain, and your team still owns the configuration and ongoing maintenance. R1 takes that burden off your team and we only get paid on outcomes, not just software.

How is this different from a claims scrubber?

Scrubbers are rules-based and look only at billing data. Phare Intelligence reasons over the full clinical record.

How do we help buyers spot a hollow demo?

Have them ask where it's live, what results it has delivered, how it handles edge cases, how integration and adoption work, and whether pricing is tied to outcomes.

Business Case, ROI & Budget Objections4 questions

A customer says they don't have budget for another technology investment. What do I say?

"Understood. The real question isn't whether there is budget for another technology investment. It's whether there is enough financial impact available to justify prioritizing it over other initiatives. How much additional net revenue, margin improvement, or cost avoidance would make this a priority?"

A customer says AI is interesting, but they can't tie it to ROI. What do I say?

That’s a fair concern. Most organizations are struggling to move AI beyond pilots and prove real value. R1 is different: we’re already doing this at scale across some of the country’s largest health systems, representing $70B+ in NPR, and we only get paid based on outcomes. The ROI isn’t theoretical, it’s built into the model.

How do we make ROI claim believable?

Point to expert auditor review behind the AI, outcome-based pricing and clear success metrics.

Is there a price book?

Not yet. R1 is working with McKinsey, and firmer pricing is expected by EOY.

IT, Implementation & Technical Objections2 questions

IT says they don't have capacity for another implementation. What do I say?

We know IT bandwidth is limited. Our goal is to deliver meaningful financial outcomes without creating another heavy lift for your team. We work with a trusted data integration partner, Redox, and can take on much of that implementation complexity for you.

How long does it take to implement one of the Phare solutions?

Implementation timing varies by Phare OS module. To operate Phare OS, we need two key data feeds: FHIR and HL7. For example, Phare Audit can typically be implemented in 8–12 weeks
